A worldview is the perspective or standpoint from which someone sees and interprets the world. What worldview we have is vital because it literally affects every area of our life, because it guides how we think, how we speak, how we do things, and how we go about our day and relationships. For the Christian, our worldview is based in the Bible, which is the standard of and authority on all truth.

Though some may think the Christian worldview is limited to a certain area, such as church and moral talk, it is actually a very comprehensive worldview that God means for us to live out in every area of our lives. 2 Timothy 3:17 says that Scripture was given to us "that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (NKJV). This verse does not say only equipped for some things, but "thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:17b (NKJV).

However, one may ask: "what does this actually look like." That is a good question. Living out the Christian worldview means reading your Bible and applying what it says and its principles to your life. In the Bible, we see that we are to bring glory to God in what we do (1 Corinthians 10:31), that we are special and made in God's image (Genesis 1:27), that we are to work as if it is for God Himself (Colossians 3:23), that we are to seek wisdom (Proverbs 4:7), that we are to show love toward our neighbor (Matthew 22:39), that we are to be honest in everything (Proverbs 12:22), and so much more. Therefore, it is clear that there is a lot that we can learn from the Bible and apply to our lives; however, it is up to us to be diligent to read our Bibles and apply what it says to every area of our lives. Then, when we do that, we will truly be living out the Christian worldview.
